The Pose 5 by mattymanx The Pose 5 by mattymanx
Thank you for veiwing everyone! I finally got back around to rending after a long while of NOT rendering. I was going to do more with this, add a car and a better scene but in the end it just made more sense to go with the first idea which was just her and a simpe background.

Sometimes simplicity is the perfect prop. :-) For a photo-shoot style, I'd say you aced it. Good show to get back to the keyboard!

Thank you. I have to admit, 2011 was a dry year for me for renders. 2012 has been more productive already. Not sure how many more will come since I am involved in content creation. I look on the bright side however, I do my own promos and I treat those the same as I treat my renders. :D

I finally got into content creation as well this year, since book selling isn't paying out real well this quarter. ;-( Most textures thus far, but I'd really like to figure Blender. The program baffles me to this day, and I've had it on three different computers. Sigh...

I have not tried this E-Book out yet but there is a 120 page ebook on Blender for beginners - [link] - it was updated for the newer 2.6+ interface

Sweet jesus, that's precisely what I was looking for! Thank you greatly Matty! The other book I'd been mulling was a Blender for Dummies dealie. I didn't want to admit the need, but its there like a fart in the shower. Downloading now!

Absolutely stunning! This render finally sold me on Salome. I already thought she was incredibly cute, but this shows the versatility she is capable of. You've made her downright sexy! And, of course, your posing and lighting are exquisite.

First thing you need to do i make sure your using the correct version for LuxRender for your Operating System:

All links are hosted on the Preta3d.com website which is owned by the author of Reality
- Mac OS 32 and 64 bits systems: [link]
- Windows 32-bit without OpenCL: [link]
- Windows 32-bit with OpenCL: [link]
- Windows 64-bit without OpenCL: [link]
- Windows 64-bit with OpenCL: [link]

Next you need to be sure you are using the version of Reality that correspnds to your version of DAZ Studio 3 or 4. By this I mean you cannot use the 32bit DS3 Reality plugin with the 64bit DS3. Same goes with DS4.

What is your operating system and what version of DAZ Studio are you using?

You should have an EXE file for Reality for DS4 32bit.
Run the EXE file and direct it to your DS4 folder where you have the program installed.

Beautiful render indeed. Nice selection of gear and you did a great job getting the pose and expression to match. I'm sure it will take me a while to get producing renders this tasty but I can live and hope - and practice! I'm a stuck between buying a platinum membership and a pile of "swag" over at DAZ or buying Poser Pro and just a few select pieces.

I would go try to get the most bang for your buck.

With a PC membership you get 30% off DAZ Originals so if most of what your buying is DOs then you save the extra bit.

You can always get the Monthly to start which is only $30 and then switch to annual next month or just cancel it if you dont want it after a month.

I think I'd already made my mind up when I posted this. I've got a cart full of stuff over at DAZ but I'm still procrastinating on committing. I guess I can always go poser at some time in the future and take most of my stuff over if I feel the need.

Right now Amazon.com has really good deals on Poser. P8 is only $45 USD.

Check into doing the trial of Poser first before you commit you money just incase you decide you dont want it. Same with DAZ Studio Advanced or Pro.

Many thanks. I'm pretty happy for now playing with the basic DAZ S4 (I did end up buying that basket of stuff). I think I'll stick with it untill I feel I need a 64-bit app and then I'll take another look.

Thanks for the Canadian Llama by the way ;)

How did you get the boots to fit? Great job. :)

:iconmattymanx:

It was a manual fitting. The boots load up one at a time so its wasy to fit the left and then the right. I had to hide part of A3s legs to do it too though.

Well considering that the stock fittings for most shoes involve making the feet invisible that's not that big a deal. Though getting the boots to conform in the first place usually seems awkward. I picked up the high-tension boots from Synful Mindz (they stopped offering it...) and they don't fit A3 very well, and don't properly conform to any morphs. I had to parent them to her calves and pose them by hand. :O

I had to parent these to her thighs in order to work it right but thankfully the knee bend in the boots is the same as her leg. Keep in mind too that those boots are for V4.

Which boots are meant for V4? The ones you used or the High Tension? The HT's I picked up were supposed to be for A3, but fit poorly at best.

That render is amazing. I've never used Daz3d. I've always used Poser. I cant imagine starting over in another software and having to re-learn everything. Renders like this make me want to dive in though. Great lighting.
